I wear a lot of hats. These hats serve a bigger purpose—to help you be the best version of yourself. When it comes to training, I believe in making you feel strong and confident by teaching you from knowledge and experience.
As the founder of Laura Mahoney Fitness, I am dedicated to the health and wellness of each and every person I work with.
I transformed my own body since the beginning of my fitness journey. I grew up overweight and unhealthy, and slowly learned the ins and outs of what it takes to be successful in maintaining a healthy lifestyle with a bunch of ups and downs along the way.
I have a special love for strength training, and after competing in two powerlifting competitions (and winning!), I train with a strength based emphasis because I truly believe it transforms your body and mind. I became stronger than I ever thought I would, transformed my body and physique beyond what I could have imagined, and truly became a more confident person.
When I found out I was pregnant, I thought I had to hang up my powerlifting belt. I was at a loss not knowing how to work towards "being an athlete" and maintaining a specific weight. And on top of the extreme fatigue and nausea, I was ready to not get off the couch ever again.
But over the course of my pregnancy, I learned how to be more empowered than ever before. I learned how to appropriately workout with the changing hormones and physique, while learning the ins and outs of keeping my baby healthy too.
Though training may be different and look different while pregnant and post partum, it is possible. You are not made of glass; you just need to find the RIGHT solution for you.
I have made it my mission to serve each individual with the utmost respect and care, and am so passionate about teaching the WHY behind what we do. I tailor programs around what you specifically need, taking into consideration your physical body and psychological needs.
I have a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology from the University of Connecticut, and am a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.

Don’t buy your new mom jeans just yet!
My daughter Adeline was born in November. In May, after months of exclusively wearing my pregnancy leggings, I thought it would be fun to get some new mom Jeans! I had given up on the idea of fitting into my old pants and was coming to terms with my new shape.
After the first month of working with Laura, these jeans were too big! I didn’t see this coming. After two months, I was back in my old jeans and actually a little more muscular than I was pre-pregnancy! (I haven’t tried my work pants since we’ve been #quarantined)
Now, after four months of working with Laura, I’m back to my pre-pregnancy weight...which was 5 lbs lower than my goal weight as I was trying to have realistic expectations and also be gentle with myself.
I don’t think I’m an exception. I’m starting to view exercise as more of a science or mathematical formula. If you keep it up, you’ll get results. I couldn’t have gotten these results without Laura. I was too busy and tired to research exercise plans and even if I had, there’s no way I could have acquired the wisdom she’s attained after years of working to perfect the art of personal training.
Everyone is different and we have to continually work to love ourselves in whatever shape or form we’re in and be grateful to our bodies for enabling us to be with the people we love, but I now view exercise as a way of loving myself and being able to be more present and energetic with my baby girl!
I know everyone is starting their pre & post natal fitness journey from different places. Whether you’re a former athlete or haven't worked out in years, I am here to guide you towards a healthy and happy life.
Each plan is unique and offers various benefits.
This 1:1 training service is for those who want someone directly in front of them to guide them through their workouts. Either 1 or 2 times per week, we will go through an hour long training session tailored to the individual's needs.
This 1:1 training service offers the most unique structure. With pre-planned monthly workouts that the individual goes through on their own, we also meet virtually for 1 hour a month.
This is a 6 week training program that is specific towards prenatal fitness. With follow along videos OR written instructions with video demos, all workouts are tailored to keeping both mom and baby safe and strong.
This 8 week program takes new moms through it all! This post natal plan includes strength workouts, yoga classes, guided meditations, and a recipe guide. *Do with doctor consent to return to exercise*
